In 2005 Michael joined Inchcape Australia, a leading player in the automotive services sector operating in the distribution, retail and logistics markets with over 1200 employees across Australia and New Zealand, as Director of HR. He has previously held executive HR roles in the retail and private hospital industries.

Michael's responsibilities include Inchcape's people strategy, shared services, organisational development and employee relations and he has been a key player in creating a customer centric culture and aligning employee and customer engagement.

In 2008, the Australian HR Awards for Best HR Leader commented “Michael has achieved major change in his business. The HR Strategy provided a very real example of clearly aligning the HR focus to the business agenda – in this case customer focus.
